Event: Bird Walk at Colonel Francis Beatty Park with Tony Lombardino

Bird Walk at Colonel Francis Beatty Park with Tony Lombardino
Dec
10

Learn more about bird identification and explore a variety of habitats during the cold weather season.

Bring a friend and join us Saturday, December 10, 2016, for a bird walk at Colonel Francis Beatty Park guided by Tony Lombardino, an avid birder who has lead many bird walks for visitors to the Rockefeller University Field Research Center in Millbrook, NY and as a docent at the Lab of Ornithology at Cornell University.

Something for all levels of birding – from beginning to advance! Plus pick up tips on birding by ear, migration, habitat and lots more! If you can’t find us when you get there, call 704 819-3447. The walk begins at 8:00 a.m. and last about 1.5 hours. Dress for the weather. We recommend waterproof shoes, long pants, and binoculars.

A representative from Opticron will be there with binoculars for those who do not have a pair. After the bird walk, the Opticron representative will be back at Backyard Birds to help you choose the best instrument for your hobby or pastime whether its bird and butterfly watching, astronomy and field-sports, or enjoying wildlife from your kitchen window.
