Add beauty and wildlife habitat value to your yard by using native plants!
We all know about using feeders to provide food for birds. But did you know that the landscaping choices you make can also provide for birds? And bees, butterflies and other wildlife?
There are many great sources for info on native plants. www.ncwildflower.org is one of them. Another is the Audubon North Carolina Native Plants for Birds Piedmont brochure, which we have at the store. This great handout breaks the recommendations down by Larval host plants, Berry-producing plants, Seed/nut-producing plants and Nectar-producing plants.
Where do you get these plants?
1. Carolina Heritage Native Nursery at the Matthews Farmers Market every other Saturday in season.
